Finnish Turnips

Ingredients

  • 3 c. cooked, mashed turnip
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • pinch of sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 egg
  • nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°.
  2. Into a blender or a large bowl, put turnip, salt, pepper, sugar, butter, milk, egg and a sprinkle of nutmeg.
  3. Blend or beat well.
  4. Turn into a buttered mold.
  5. Cover with crushed cornflakes and dot with butter.
  6. Bake for 1 1/2 hours.
  7. Makes 4 servings.
