Ingredients

  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups fruit or fruit pie filling

Instructions

  1. Mix the self-rising flour, sugar, and milk in a medium-sized mixing bowl, stirring only enough to thoroughly combine the ingredients.
  2. Pour the batter into a deep 9-inch glass pie dish.
  3. Pour melted butter or margarine evenly over the top of the batter without stirring.
  4. Add fruit or fruit pie filling evenly over the top without stirring, distributing it across the batter.
  5. Do not stir in the fruit or filling.
  6. Bake until the cobbler is golden and bubbly, approximately 40 minutes.
