Ingredients

  • 2 lb. stew meat or chuck
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 large onion
  • 4 carrots
  • 2 stalks celery
  • 2 Tbsp. minute tapioca
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 garlic
  • potatoes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Sprinkle salt, sugar, and tapioca over the meat.
  2. Add 1 cup of tomato sauce and crushed garlic.
  3. Layer the ingredients in a casserole dish.
  4. Bake at 250°F (120°C) for about 4 hours.
  5. Add potatoes 1 hour before the stew is done.
  6. Push the potatoes down into the juice before serving.
