Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. ground meat (pork, beef, or chicken)
  • 1 Tbsp. water
  • 1 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 drops sesame oil (optional)
  • 30 won tons
  • peanut oil or salad oil (for deep frying)

Instructions

  1. Add water, cornstarch, salt, and sesame oil to the ground meat and mix thoroughly until the meat is completely blended and smooth.
  2. Place a small spoonful of the filling in the center of each won ton wrapper.
  3. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, then fold and seal to form a pouch.
  4. Heat peanut or salad oil in a deep frying pan or pot over medium-high heat.
  5. Deep fry the won tons until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve hot with dipping sauce if desired.
