Frosted Cherry Drops
Ingredients
- 1 (18 1/4 ounce) package pillsbury plus white cake mix ⓘ
- 1/2 cup sour cream ⓘ
- 3 tablespoons cherry juice ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract ⓘ
- 1 egg ⓘ
- 1/2 cup maraschino cherry, finely chopped ⓘ
- FROSTING ⓘ
- 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar ⓘ
- 1/4 cup margarine or 1/4 cup butter, softened ⓘ
- 1 tablespoon cherry juice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In large bowl, combine all ingredients EXCEPT cherries; stir until well blended.
- Fold in cherries.
- Drop by teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 8 to 12 minutes or until edges are light golden brown.
- Cool for 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets.
- Cool completely.
- FROSTING:
- In small bowl, combine all frosting ingredients EXCEPT cherries, adding enough half-and-half for desired spreading consistency.
- Frost cooled cookies; top each with one-fourth maraschino cherry.
