Ingredients

  • 12 c. raw corn, cut off cob (scrape cob)
  • 1 stick oleo
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Combine corn, oleo, sugar, milk, and salt in a saucepan and cook over medium heat, stirring frequently until the mixture boils well.
  2. Cool the mixture, pour it into a freezer-safe container, and freeze until solid.
  3. When ready to serve, thaw the custard in a double boiler, heating gently until hot and smooth.
  4. Enjoy warm as is or with a sprinkle of fresh herbs for added brightness.
