Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/4 pound vanilla caramel candies
  • 1 cup chopped pecan meats
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 teaspoons water

Instructions

  1. Combine brown sugar, granulated sugar, salt, and milk in a small saucepan; bring to a boil and cook to the soft ball stage (242°F), stirring occasionally.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in butter until melted; allow to cool.
  3. Add vanilla and beat the mixture until it becomes firm enough to knead.
  4. Cool completely before rolling out and filling with chopped pecans.
