Garden Patch Hot Pepper Jelly

A vibrant and sweet-hot pepper jelly with a perfect balance of heat and sweetness, ideal for spreading on toast, serving with cheese, or gifting to friends.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup green hot pepper
  • 5 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups cider vinegar
  • 1 bottle Certo

Instructions

  1. Chop the bell peppers and green hot peppers.
  2. Combine the chopped peppers with 5 cups of sugar and 1 1/2 cups of cider vinegar.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil and cook for 3 minutes.
  4. Strain the mixture to remove solids.
  5. Add one bottle of Certo (fruit pectin) to the strained liquid.
  6. Bring the mixture to a boil again.
  7. Remove from heat and add 1/2 teaspoon of green food coloring.
  8. Pour the hot jelly into sterilized jars and seal.
