German Oven Pancake

A fluffy, golden oven pancake with a custardy interior and crispy edges, perfect for brunch or breakfast, served with fresh fruit or preserves for a delightful start to the day.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups milk
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in a blender.
  2. Blend well until smooth.
  3. Place 1 1/2 cubes of margarine in a 13 x 9-inch pan.
  4. Place the pan in the oven until the butter melts and bubbles.
  5. Ensure the pan and butter are very hot.
  6. Remove the pan from the oven and pour the blended mixture into it.
  7. Return the pan to the oven.
  8. Bake at 450°F for 20 minutes.
  9. Reduce the temperature to 350°F and bake for another 8 to 10 minutes.
  10. Pour on topping and serve with fresh fruit or preserves.
