Ingredients

  • 8 tea bags
  • 1 (1 to 2-inch) piece fresh ginger, sliced
  • 2 to 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 (12 oz.) bottles or cans ginger ale

Instructions

  1. Place tea bags and ginger slices in a teapot.
  2. Add 4 1/2 cups boiling water and cover.
  3. Let steep for 3 to 5 minutes or until desired strength.
  4. Remove tea bags and stir in sugar.
  5. Cool at room temperature for 2 hours.
  6. Cover and chill until ready to serve.
  7. Just before serving, pour the tea mixture into a pitcher.
  8. Add chilled ginger ale and gently stir.
  9. Serve over ice if desired.
