Golden Bacon Cornbread

Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. yellow cornmeal
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 1 c. sour cream
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 4 slices crispy bacon, crumbled

Instructions

  1. Blend cornmeal, milk and sour cream together.
  2. Set aside for 30 minutes.
  3. Add beaten egg to mixture.
  4. Blend dry ingredients into batter, just until smooth.
  5. Add bacon.
  6. Bake at 400° in greased and floured pan for 15 to 20 minutes.
