- Measure and sift dry ingredients together.
- Cut in the shortening; stir in the buttermilk.
- When thoroughly mixed, turn onto a floured board.
- Knead and fold dough about 8 times, but keep the dough soft.
- Roll to about 1/2-inch thick and cut with floured cutter or a glass.
- Place on a baking pan and brush tops with melted butter.
- Bake at 450° for 12 to 15 minutes.
