Grampy'S Fish Chowder

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. haddock (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 c. heavy cream
  • 1 qt. milk
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and cut into small bite-sized pieces
  • 2 large onions, diced
  • 3 Tbsp. butter

Instructions

  1. Cut fish into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Simmer in just enough water to cover fish until fish turns white.
  3. Remove fish and set aside. Add water to the same pot and boil potatoes until just about done. Remove potatoes.
  4. At the same time, cook onions in saute pan with butter until soft and translucent.
  5. Now, in large pot, combine fish, potatoes, onions, cream and milk.
  6. Heat on low.
  7. Do not let boil! Cover pot and let sit for a half hour or so.
