Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup white syrup
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3/4 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Put sugar, white syrup, water, and butter in a saucepan and cook, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. Continue cooking without stirring until the syrup forms a brittle ball in cold water or reaches 270°F (hard crack stage).
  3. Add vanilla to the syrup and stir to mix.
  4. Pour the hot syrup over popped popcorn and mix well to coat evenly.
  5. Wet hands when shaping the mixture into balls to prevent sticking.
  6. Form the mixture into 12 medium-sized popcorn balls and let cool.
