Grapelets are sweet, chewy grape-flavored candies with a hint of lemon and vanilla, coated in powdered sugar, perfect for a fruity treat or festive gift.

Ingredients

  • 7 pkg. Knox gelatine
  • 1 c. grape puree
  • 4 c. sugar
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Let 1 cup of grape puree and Knox gelatine soak together for 30 minutes.
  2. In a large kettle, add the remaining grape puree, sugar, and lemon juice.
  3. Bring to a boil and cook until thick, using a wooden spoon to skim foam while boiling.
  4. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and 3/4 cup chopped nuts to the mixture.
  5. Pour the hot mixture into a buttered 8-inch square pan.
  6. Let stand overnight to set.
  7. Cut into small squares and roll in powdered sugar before serving.
