Great Strawberry Shortcake
A delightful strawberry shortcake featuring layers of moist yellow cake, fresh strawberries, and fluffy Cool Whip, perfect for summer gatherings and sweet celebrations.

- Make the yellow cake according to the package directions in two layers and allow to cool.
- Punch holes in both cake layers with a 2-prong fork.
- Leave 4 strawberries whole; cut the remaining strawberries into 4ths or 8ths.
- Mix the cut strawberries with 3/4 cup sugar and a little water until well combined.
- Spread half of the strawberries over the bottom cake layer.
- Place the top cake layer over the strawberries.
- Spread the remaining strawberries over the top layer of the cake.
- Beat the thawed Cool Whip with a mixer until smooth and spread it evenly over the entire cake.
- Garnish the top with the 4 whole strawberries that have been cut into halves.
- Refrigerate the cake before serving.
