Grits Spoon Bread

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. margarine
  • 1 c. quick-cooking grits
  • 3 c. boiling water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 c. nonfat dry milk powder
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar

Instructions

  1. Melt margarine in 1-quart casserole.
  2. Add grits to boiling water in saucepan.
  3. Cook over low heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally; remove from heat.
  4. Add melted margarine, dry milk powder, eggs, sugar and salt.
  5. Beat for 1 minute.
  6. Pour into casserole.
  7. Bake at 350° for 50 to 60 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Yields 6 servings.
