Ham-Chutney Pastries

Ingredients

  • 2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. curry powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2/3 c. shortening
  • 6 to 7 Tbsp. cold water
  • milk
  • 1/2 recipe Ham Chutney Spread

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, curry powder and salt in bowl.
  2. Cut in shortening until pieces are the size of small peas.
  3. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of water over part of the mixture.
  4. Gently toss with a fork.
  5. Push to side of bowl.
  6. Repeat until all is moistened.
  7. Form dough into a ball.
  8. Roll dough 1/8-inch thickness on floured surface.
  9. Cut 3-inch rounds.
  10. Brush edges with milk.
  11. Spoon a rounded teaspoon of ham mixture onto half of each circle.
  12. Fold pastry round over.
  13. Seal edges with fork.
  14. Brush with milk.
  15. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes.
  16. Serve warm.
