Ingredients

  • 1 1/3 c. sugar
  • 1 lb. butter
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 c. plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 tsp. baking powder

Instructions

  1. Mix salt and baking powder with flour.
  2. Mix sugar, butter, milk and vanilla together.
  3. Add milk and flour alternately in several steps.
  4. Bake in preheated oven at 325° for 45 minutes.
