Ingredients

  • 1 (No. 2) can drained small beets
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Mix sugar, cornstarch, and vinegar in a saucepan and bring to a boil; cook for 5 minutes.
  2. Pour the hot mixture over the drained beets in a saucepan and let stand on the back of the stove for 30 minutes.
  3. Put the saucepan on low heat just before serving.
  4. Add butter and stir until melted before serving.
