Herbed Beer Cheese Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh sage or 1 1/2 teaspoons dried sage
  • 1 (12 ounce) bottle alaskan ESB beer

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Grease and flour a large (9-inch) loaf pan.
  3. In a medium bowl, stir together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sage.
  4. Stir in the Alaskan ESB and cheese until complete blended.
  5. Spread evenly in the prepared pan.
  6. Bake until a thin wooden skewer inserted in the center of the loaf comes out clean, 50-55 minutes.
  7. Cool the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
