Homemade Buckeyes
Ingredients
Instructions
- Beat together the peanut butter, butter, sugar, and vanilla in a large bowl until it forms a crumbly mixture.
- Line a baking sheet with wax paper and roll peanut butter mixture into tablespoon-sized balls. The method to this is as follows: Take a handful of the mixture, squeeze it together with your hands, then roll it in a ball and place on the baking sheet.
- Place one toothpick in the center of each ball. Place the baking sheet in the freezer about 30 minutes or until hardened.
- Meanwhile, melt the chocolate in a double broiler, stirring often until smooth. Keep the double broiler on the burner, stirring often while dipping each peanut butter ball into it. You want to leave a little bit of peanut butter ball showing at the top to make them look like the authentic buckeyes.
- Place back on the wax paper and repeat with the remaining peanut butter balls. Then set back in the freezer for 10 minutes until the chocolate has hardened.
- Enjoy! Store them in an airtight container in the fridge if you have any leftovers.
