Ingredients

  • 2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • oil

Instructions

  1. In skillet, heat 2 inches
  2. of
  3. oil
  4. to 350°.
  5. Mix flour and buttermilk.
  6. Dough may be rolled and cut in 2-inch squares or patted into small pieces.
  7. Drop
  8. into hot oil and fry until golden brown.
  9. Serve
  10. with butter, confectioners sugar, honey or syrup.
