Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. shortening (Crisco)
  • 2 sq. chocolate, melted
  • 1/2 c. buckwheat honey
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Mix shortening and chocolate together. Add honey, vanilla, sugar and eggs; mix well.
  2. Sift and then combine flour, baking powder and salt with other ingredients.
  3. Place batter in well-greased square pan.
  4. Bake at 300° for 45 minutes.
  5. Cool, cut and serve.
