Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 c. flour
  • 3/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1/3 c. shortening
  • 3/4 c. buttermilk

Instructions

  1. Mix well; roll to 1/2-inch thickness.
  2. Bake at 425°.
  3. Yields 10 to 12 biscuits.
