Hot Mocha Float

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 quart milk
  • 2 cups hot strong black coffee or 3 tablespoons instant coffee granules, dissolved in
  • 2 cups hot water
  • 1/2 pint chocolate ice cream
  • whipped cream, for garnish
  • chocolate shavings, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan with wire whisk or spoon, stir together cocoa and sugar.
  2. Over medium heat, slowly add milk until well blended.
  3. Add 2 cups of hot strong black coffee while mixing constantly.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Ladle into 6 (8-ounce) mugs.
  6. Top each with spoonful of ice cream, whipped cream and chocolate.
