Ingredients

  • 2 c. plain flour
  • 1 Tbsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 c. shortening
  • 3/4 c. sweet milk

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 450°F.
  2. Cut shortening into flour until particles are as fine as coarse crumbs.
  3. Add milk; stir in with a fork.
  4. Turn dough out on a lightly floured board or pastry cloth; knead just until smooth.
  5. Roll out about 1/2 inch thick; cut with floured cutter.
  6. Place biscuits on a lightly greased baking sheet; bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
