Ingredients

  • 1 c. canned pumpkin
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. ginger
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 qt. vanilla ice cream
  • 1 (9-inch) baked pastry shell
  • whipped cream
  • chocolate shavings or sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Mix pumpkin, sugar, spices and ice cream until ice cream is softened.
  2. Pile into pastry shell and freeze at least 4 hours. Top with whipped cream when serving.
  3. Chocolate shavings or sprinkles make it more appealing to some children.
  4. Enjoy this easy to make Thanksgiving treat any time of the year.
