Ingredients

  • 1 large onion
  • 5 or 6 pork chops
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cans Blue Runner red beans
  • 1.5 cans water

Instructions

  1. Sauté the onion, salt, and pork chops in 1 teaspoon of oil until the pork chops are browned and the onion is translucent.
  2. Add the cans of red beans and 1 1/2 cans of water to the skillet.
  3. Let the mixture cook for about 30 minutes on medium heat, then add a dash of garlic powder and stir it into the beans.
  4. Cook rice separately while the beans are simmering.
  5. Serve the beans over the cooked rice, accompanied by a vegetable, salad, and cornbread.
