Ingredients

  • 1 to 2 lb. ham and ham bone
  • 2 qt. green beans or 3 (No. 2) cans
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cans navy beans
  • 3 c. potatoes, diced small

Instructions

  1. In a large Dutch oven, combine ham, ham bone, green beans with liquid, and chopped onion.
  2. Add enough water to cover the ingredients.
  3. Bring to a boil and simmer for 1 hour.
  4. Add navy beans and cook while preparing potatoes.
  5. Add diced potatoes and simmer for an additional 30 minutes.
