Ingredients

  • 3 T cumin seeds divided
  • 1 T oil
  • 1/2 t black peppercorn
  • 4 green cardamom pods
  • 2 fresh green chillies finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves finely chopped
  • 1 inch ginger grated
  • 1 t ground coriander
  • 2 t ground cumin
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 8 chicken pieces
  • 1 t garam masala
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Chilli powder

Instructions

  1. Dry roast 1 T cumin seeds, set aside
  2. Hear oil in skillet. Fry remaining CUMIN SEEDS, BLACK PEPPERCORNS, and CARDAMOM for 2-3 min.
  3. Add CHILLIES, GARLIC, and, GINGER and fry for 2 min
  4. Add GROUND CORRIANDER, GROUND CUMIN and SALT. Stir well, cook 2 min.
  5. Add CHICKEN and cook 20-25 min.
  6. Add GARAM MASALA and reserved toasted CUMIN SEEDS and cook another 5 min. Garnish w fresh cilantro and chili powder.
