  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 envelopes plain gelatin
  • 1 pint sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla

Instructions

  1. Grease a 9x13 inch glass dish. Dissolve one package of jello in 1 cup boiling water, then add 1/2 cup cold water. Chill until set.
  2. Heat 2 cups of milk to scalding, then add 1 cup of sugar and stir until dissolved.
  3. Dissolve 2 envelopes of plain gelatin in 1/2 cup cold water, then add to the hot milk mixture.
  4. Add 2 tablespoons of vanilla to the pint of sour cream.
  5. Combine the milk mixture with the sour cream mixture and mix well.
  6. Pour 1 1/2 cups of the mixture over the first chilled layer of jello and let it set.
  7. Repeat the process with another layer of flavored jello, then add a layer of sour cream mixture, warming it slightly if needed to prevent gelling.
  8. Carefully pour each layer to avoid tearing the previous layer, creating a colorful layered effect when sliced.
