Ingredients

  • 4 ripe tomatoes
  • 6 tart apples
  • sugar
  • 1/2 c. vinegar
  • 12 whole cloves
  • 12 whole allspice
  • 1 small cinnamon stick
  • 1 c. large raisins

Instructions

  1. Peel and core apples and tomatoes. Cut in quarters.
  2. Measure the tomatoes and apples.
  3. Add the same number cups in sugar.
  4. Tie spices together in cheesecloth.
  5. Add spices and vinegar. Simmer for 1 hour.
  6. Add raisins and simmer 30 minutes.
  7. Pack into hot clean jars and seal while hot.
