- Break the cooled cake into small pieces and place them in a deep bowl.
- Pour Kahlua over the cake pieces and let soak overnight.

- Place a layer of cake pieces in the bottom of a trifle bowl.
- Add a layer of prepared pudding over the cake.
- Follow with a layer of Cool Whip.
- Repeat the layers about three times, ending with a layer of Cool Whip.
