Ingredients

  • 3 cups self-rising flour
  • pinch of salt
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 can beer

Instructions

  1. Combine the self-rising flour, salt, sugar, and beer in a mixing bowl.
  2. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan or baking dish.
  3. Place in a cold oven.
  4. Turn the oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake for 45 minutes.
  5. Check the bread; if it is browning too much on top, cover with foil.
  6. Continue baking for up to 60 minutes total, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
