Ingredients

  • 1 yellow cake mix
  • 5 Tbsp. margarine
  • 1/3 c. chopped pecans
  • 1/3 c. sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/4 c. milk
  • 2 eggs plus for mix
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 sq. unsweetened chocolate
  • shaved almonds

Instructions

  1. Cake:
  2. Follow mix directions, except substitute 1/2 cup water with 1/2 cup rum.
  3. Prepare 2 pans by melting 2 tablespoons of margarine in each, then sprinkle lightly with finely chopped pecans.
  4. Pour half of batter in each pan and baking according to package.
  5. Cool cakes and prepare filling.
