Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon double-acting baking powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 (4 oz.) package sliced, cooked ham, diced
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup shortening

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F about 35 minutes before serving.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt with a fork.
  3. Cut in shortening using a pastry blender or two knives until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add milk, parsley, and diced ham to the mixture.
  5. Stir with a fork until just combined.
  6. Drop dough by 1/4 cupfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet, spacing 1 inch apart to make 12 biscuits.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
