Ingredients

  • 4 slices bread, crust removed
  • 1/2 c. skim milk
  • 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. onion salt
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1 qt. water
  • 1 small bay leaf
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 clove

Instructions

  1. Soak bread in skim milk.
  2. Add garlic powder, onion salt, ground beef and egg; mix thoroughly.
  3. Form into 8 balls.
  4. Combine water, bay leaf, salt and clove.
  5. Bring to a boil.
  6. Drop balls into boiling water and cook until beef is done (about 15 minutes). Drain before placing on platter.
