Ingredients

  • 1 gal. kosher dill pickles
  • 8 c. sugar
  • 1 pt. tarragon vinegar
  • 1 box pickling spices
  • 11 or 12 (12 oz.) Mason jars

Instructions

  1. Start with a gallon of kosher dill pickles.
  2. Drain the pickle juice and slice the pickles crosswise into approximately 1/4-inch pieces.
  3. Pack the gallon jars with layers of sugar, a spice bag, and pickle slices, making four layers, alternating a layer of sugar in the bottom of the jar, then a spice bag, then pickles, and so on.
