Lefse (Norwegian Bread)

Ingredients

  • 1 c. instant potatoes
  • 3 1/2 c. boiling water
  • 1/4 c. Crisco
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 1/2 c. flour

Instructions

  1. Beat instant potatoes into the other ingredients except flour. Cool thoroughly (overnight).
  2. Work in flour; form into a thick roll.
  3. Divide into 16 pieces.
  4. Cover and refrigerate.
  5. Take out a few pieces at a time to roll out and bake on a dry griddle.
