Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons ghee melted, or vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 4 cups vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Blend the flour and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Gradually use enough water to make stiff pliable dough.
  3. Cover dough with damp cloth and set aside for 30 minutes.
  4. Knead dough again.
  5. Roll dough into a long 1 inch diameter tube.
  6. Pinch off end and roll into a small ball.
  7. Dip corner of dough into melted ghee or oil.
  8. Roll it out into 4 inches in diameter.
  9. Heat plenty of oil.
  10. Put luchi in and flicker oil on top so it will swell up like a ball.
  11. In a few seconds, flip over and cook the other side until golden brown.
