- Reduce oven temperature to 300°F (150°C).

- Gradually add 1 cup sugar, beating until fluffy.
- Add grated lemon peel and vanilla extract.
- Beat in eggs, one at a time.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the cooled crust.
