Mixed Herbs Quick Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons honey (or sugar)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 11 g dry yeast
  • 1 cup very warm water
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 1 egg (medium)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger powder
  • 1 tablespoon mixed dried herbs (thyme, rosemary, marjoram, basil, oregano, sage)

Instructions

  1. Mix 1 1/2 cup of flour, honey (or sugar), salt, dry yeast, very warm water, shortening and beaten egg; beat until smooth.
  2. Add the remaining flour and beat until smooth.
  3. Cover and let rise (about 30 minutes).
  4. Stir the batter slowly then pour into 9 x 5 baking tin and let rise about 20 minutes.
  5. Bake it in the oven for 20 - 25 minutes.
