Ingredients

  • 1 ready made pie crust
  • 1 pint strawberries, hulled
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 pint whipping cream

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ready-made pie crust according to package directions and set aside to cool.
  2. Slice enough fresh strawberries to line the bottom of the pie shell.
  3. Save several strawberries with hulls on for garnish.
  4. Cut remaining strawberries into a saucepan, add sugar, and cook on medium heat, stirring constantly.
  5. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with some liquid from the saucepan until well combined.
  6. Return the cornstarch mixture to the saucepan and cook until the filling thickens.
  7. Pour the thickened filling into the cooled pie shell.
  8. Allow the pie to cool completely.
  9. Cover the pie with whipped cream.
  10. Garnish with whole berries on top.
  11. Refrigerate any leftovers.
