- Combine 3 cups of masa harina with 1½ cups of hot (almost boiling) water in a mixing bowl.
- Mix until the dough is smooth and pliable, adding more water or harina if needed.
- Divide the dough into small balls about the size of a golf ball.
- Place a plastic paper (6 x 8-inch) sheet inside a tortilla press.
- Place a dough ball between the plastic sheets and press to flatten into a thin circle.
- Carefully peel off the plastic paper and cook the tortilla on a hot skillet or griddle until lightly browned on both sides.
- Repeat with remaining dough balls to form all taco shells.
