- Remove the pan from the heat.
- Stir in the vanilla.
- Let the mixture cool for ten minutes, stirring until it loses its gloss and begins to firm.
- Pour onto a buttered cookie sheet or into a rectangular casserole dish.
- Allow the candy to harden, then cut into small squares.
