No Fat Split Pea Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. split peas
  • 3 to 4 medium onions
  • 2 to 3 cloves garlic
  • 3 large carrots
  • 3 Tbsp. fresh parsley
  • 1 Tbsp. fresh dill
  • 1/4 tsp. marjoram
  • 1 bay leaf
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse split peas and soak for 1 hour.
  2. In large pot, put split peas in 8 cups of water.
  3. Chop onions, garlic and carrots and mix in the pot.
  4. Finely chop parsley and dill.
  5. Add with the remaining seasonings.
  6. Cook 2 hours on medium heat.
  7. Add water to thin if needed.
