Ingredients

  • 2 pkg. dry yeast
  • 1/2 c. lukewarm water
  • 1/2 c. shortening (butter or Crisco), soft
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. salt
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 c. milk, scalded (lukewarm)
  • 1/2 c. sugar

Instructions

  1. Add flour in a pan or bowl and make a well.
  2. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
  3. Add the rest of the ingredients including yeast after it dissolves.
  4. Knead well after it is well stirred.
  5. Add more flour if the mixture is too sticky.
  6. Let the dough rise, then roll it on a floured tablecloth or table until it is thickened.
  7. Spread cinnamon all over the dough with your hand, then add a little more sugar.
  8. Spread the nut filling, which has been scalded on low heat to lukewarm, over the dough.
  9. Roll up the dough and seal the edges.
