- Combine cornmeal, flour and sugar in medium bowl; mix well. Add 3 tablespoons bacon drippings, eggs and buttermilk; mix well. Heat remaining 2 tablespoons bacon drippings in 10-inch cast-iron skillet until sizzling hot.
- Pour batter into skillet.
- Cook over medium heat until batter is bubbly.
- Bake at 400° for 35 to 45 minutes or until brown.
- Yield:
- 10 servings.
