Ingredients

  • 1 stick oleo or 1/4 cup shortening
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 cup lukewarm milk or hot water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 packages yeast

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix oleo (shortening), sugar, salt, and lukewarm milk.
  2. Dissolve the yeast in hot water and add to the mixture. Mix well.
  3. Add flour and stir until combined.
  4. Let the dough set until double in size.
  5. Turn the dough onto a floured surface or wax paper and knead briefly.
  6. Roll out the dough and cut or pinch out balls for rolls.
  7. Place the rolls in greased pans.
  8. Bake at 400°F for about 30 minutes, until golden brown.
